basics of essay writing

Schedule: Mondays, 10:00 - 11:30am, for 12 weeks, 9/10 - 12/10, (no class 10/8, 11/12)

This course teaches the fundamentals of basic five paragraph essay writing.  Focusing on the four most common essays:  the narrative essay, the descriptive essay, the expository essay and the persuasive essay, students will work to write well crafted essays with attention to clear and grammatically correct writing.  Building on this clarity of thought, students will be challenged to think deeply and write about themselves and topics important to them in descriptive, logical and evocative ways.  Students will have the opportunity for critical feedback and if interested to submit essays for consideration for publication.
