Students who have completed Technocopia’s first “Design a Dream House” course: 

Would you like to continue designing great houses? In these hands-on studio sessions you will use Math, Science, Technology, Engineering and Visual Art skills to start a new house floor plan and make a new house model.   

Using the materials in your new 3D Home Kit, you can either build the Victorian house model featured in the kit, or build a house model of your own design. 

As you design and build, you will use specific STEM+Art+21st Century Skills based on MA Learning Standards [a list of relevant standards will be made available to parents].  

If you want to get even better at drafting house plans and building models, this new course is for you. We look forward to working with you again! 

Full tuition cost is $100. All materials are included with this fee. This class is designed for ages 10-13. A non-refundable $50 materials fee goes toward the full cost of tuition.

Instructor Jan Ham, of the Children’s Design Studio, founded the Boston Society for Architecture’s K-12 Learning By Design in Massachusetts program, and taught an Architectural Studio course at UMass Lowell’s College of Engineering’s DesignCamp. She has seen, first-hand, the power of hands-on project-based learning; and believes that, given the opportunity, children are eager to, and wholly capable of, expressing their ideas about their world through design.
