Students in this two day morning or two day afternoon workshop will be introduced to and mentored in Technocopia's glass studio. Professional glass artist, Molly Jackson, will take each student through a safety training and glass equipment orientation, and teach techniques in the old-world process of glass flame working. This process uses glass, a two thousand degree flame of an oxygen-propane bench torch, and gravity to make various ornaments and sculptures. In this workshop students will use glass rods and colored frit (crushed glass) to sculpt tiny animals. Each creation will need 24 hours to be annealed in a kiln overnight. and can be taken home the next day. Closed-toe shoes and natural fibered clothing are required.
