Glass Mosaics

In this workshop students will study techniques in mosaic design while creating their own glass tile mosaics. Drawing patterns and using luminous acrylic inks will help students gain an understanding of geometric principles and the underlying grids and methods used by artists. Techniques in designing, drawing, painting and tiling will be exercised daily as each student works to create their own glass tile mosaic and contributes to a larger class piece. Inspiration will be taken from studying designs used in Middle Eastern cultures.
