Let’s Make robots!

In this six-class series, we will build the Open Source Hephaestus Arm V2 and make it sing and dance!

In the first class, students will assemble their own copy of the Hephaestus Arm. Then students will work in teams of 2, but each student will have their own arm to build. The lab team will work together to write code to move the arm. We will learn about robot mechanics, programming for robots, and animation. At the end of the class, each student will have a working robot arm as well as experience programming. After the arms are built we will make "hand" puppets to go onto the robots. We will have our robots perform a song and dance together at the end of the class!

Full tuition cost for this programming is $325. A non-refundable materials fee of $150 is applicable and will go toward your tuition. All materials are included and are available for no contact pick up before the first class

This class is suitable for ages: 14+ or 12+ with coding experience. Java, C or C++

This robot making workshop series runs on six Fridays from September 11-October 16. Each Friday workshop runs from 1 pm - 3pm

Kevin Harrington is one of the Founders of Technocopia and currently serves on the Board of Directors. He teaches Robotics Engineering at WPI and designs all the lab robots for all of the robotics classes. Kevin was an entrepreneur for the last 15 years building Neuron Robotics and Technocopia. His current venture SmallKat won Best Communication award at the 2019 Hackaday Supercon.
