Schedule: 6 Tuesdays, 10am-11:00am, November 3 through December 15 (no class November 24)
Fee: $100
This six week hands-on virtual class will explore various ink drawing techniques and allow students to gain a repertoire of drawing skills they will be able to use to express themselves. By limiting the materials to basic black ink and white paper we will focus on the many ways pens can be used to make meaningful marks on paper. Students will be shown examples of ways that they can elaborate on and extend their drawings outside of class if they wish to incorporate more color or other media into their drawings but this class will provide them with a diverse set of techniques to use as a basis for creative expression.
Over six weeks we will delve into topics such as:
tools and materials
lines
dots/stippling
zentangling
shading/cross hatching
textures/patterns
optical illusions
lettering
combining techniques
The only required materials for this class are a variety of black ink pens (ball point, gel, sharpie, fine point, thick point, markers, etc.) and white paper (copy paper, cardstock, etc.)
A detailed list of suggested required and optional materials will be provided upon enrollment but you are free to use whatever you have available.
This programming runs on six Tuesdays from 10:00am-11:00am, during the dates of November 3rd through December 15th (No class on November 24). Full tuition cost is $100.
