Freight Elevator Saftey
Our freight elevator is a very powerful transportation tool for bringing large and heavy objects in and out of Technocopia, but it is not as intuitive to use as a typical elevator. The elevator also has some dangerous aspects to keep in mind when you are operating it so as to avoid injury.
Operating Procedure
Start by pressing the elevator button.
Wait for the elevator button light to turn off. This signals that the elevator is now on your floor.
Pull up on the belt on the outside of the elevator and gently press down on the bottom door with your foot to open the outer door.
Lift the inner door upwards until it reaches the top.
If you are entering from the first floor, scan your keycard now.
Select the destination floor (Technocopia is floor 6) before closing the doors. This ensures that the lights will not turn off while you are inside the elevator.
Pull down on the belt attached to the outer door that is on the inside of the door. Never reach your arm through the door as it is closing! Make sure the outer door is fully closed, as it likes to bounce open.
Pull down the inner door. Once it reaches the floor, the elevator will begin to move.
Once the elevator has stopped moving, you may open the inner door.
Pull up on the belt and push down with your foot to open the outer door.
Once you have exited, you may close the inner door, making sure that the belt is on the inside of the elevator, not hanging out.
Finally, close the outer door ensuring that you never reach your arms through the door as it is closing. If one of the belts is on the wrong side, stop the door from moving before reaching through the gap to move the belt. Make sure that the door is fully closed. If you are unsure if you closed the door properly, check the suggestions section for advice.
Information and Saftey
The outer doors are very heavy and tend to move quickly, so always use the strap on your side of the door to close it. Never reach through the door while it is in motion! Doing so could result in serious injury.
The elevator’s security system has been updated. To use the elevator from the first floor, a valid keycard must be scanned before selecting your destination floor. A Technocopia keycard only has access to floor 6,
While the elevator is in motion, do not touch the doors. Moving the doors while the elevator is moving will cause it to stop and possibly become locked and unable to move.

When exiting the elevator on Technocopia’s floor, press the first floor button. Once you have closed the doors, if they have been closed properly, you will hear the elevator return to the first floor. This will help you make sure the doors have been closed properly.
Select the destination floor before closing the doors to ensure that the lights do not turn off while you are inside the elevator.
If you are unsure that the elevator is at your floor, press the elevator button again and if the elevator is on your floor, then the light should turn on while you are pressing the button and turn off once you release it.
