Instructor: Haley Dunlap
Schedule: 6 Fridays, 3:30-5:00PM
Fee: $175
In this challenging and creative hands-on art class, students will explore the many different ways storytelling can be applied to art.
Using mixed media from your art kit, we'll explore the fundamentals of concept art and apply it to the process of taking a narrative idea and translating it into different media. Students will develop storyboards and produce pieces of concept art from their storyboards across 2D and 3D mediums. Skills taught in this class include character design in the 2D and 3D realm, storyboarding for world-building, and graphic novel illustration.
This programming runs on 6 Fridays from 3:30pm - 5pm, during the dates of November 6th - December 18th.
Full tuition cost is $175. A materials kit is included in the cost of the class and can be picked up before classes begin. This class is designed for ages 12+.
Haley Dunlap is a multimedia artist, whose main focus is concept art, production design and graphic novel illustration. They work with mediums ranging from oil paint, digital drawing, pen and ink to clay, metal, and other 3D material. Most of their work is a mixture of fantasy and realism; they especially love exploring stories that take place in a supernatural or sci-fi landscape and often have a fun but dark humored cast of characters. When not making art you can find Haley, admiring moss and mushrooms in the woods wishing they were a fae, playing guitar and songwriting, or re-watching the x files for the fourth time.
