Ages: 13-17

In this wide-ranging course, we’ll boldly dive into the art world.  We’ll explore paintings, sculptures, architecture, and more and learn how to look at art, critique composition, and decode it’s social or political purpose.  Then, we’ll take it a step further and learn to advocate and interpret our own experience of the art work. To deepen our understanding, in each class we’ll experiment with the art technique discussed. The last class of each month we will meet at the Worcester Art Museum where we will view examples from our studies and sketch in the galleries.
