2023 Annual Report
Technocopia has been working on new member-led initiatives, and we’d love to share what we’ve been up to!
Early in 2023, our members collaborated with staff at Technocopia to restructure Technocopia’s leadership and engagement model, and have since made big changes to how Technocopia runs. We’ve made strides towards our larger strategic goals with the support of our advisory committee, staff, and board of directors, which includes pushes towards improving our initiatives for community, accessibility, and education.

how has technocopia been doing this year?
Here are the 2023 highlights of Technopia’s efforts towards our initiatives! Thank you to all of Technocopia’s members, volunteers, staff, partners and donors for making this year so fantastic!
Community
- Open Hack has run every week with an average of 20-30 guests per event as a cornerstone for creative community
- The space has moved towards being more member run, starting with the establishment of our 5 member-led committees early in 2023 After a collaboration with OneWorcester, we’ve established a strategic plan including a new Mission & Vision Statement
- Our Operations Director has spearheaded a new nonprofit member price to promote collaborations and connections
- Our members and partners are running 8 monthly events open to the public events per month, promoting engagement with our local communities
Accessibility
- Technocopia has partnered with Monano Arts to hold Open Hack en Español, with the goal of making our space more spanish language accessible
- Our Membership and Facilities Committee has begun work on documentation on areas where Technocopia can improve on accessibility for language and physical needs
- Our education committee has implemented a beta version of a new tool trainings system, lowering the cost barrier for tool authorization.
Education
- We are partnering with the Worcester and Shrewsbury library, to offer classes and consultation for their innovation centers with the goal of increasing the amount of people that are able to be creative, regardless of their income
- Our education committee has finalized a system for instructors to be able to host unique make-and-take style classes to the public more regularly
- We have hosted 125 classes this year, with over 300 students
