Our Annual Maker Market Was One Of 4 Markets Today!
By: Ariel Amasifuén
This year for our annual maker market, Panduh Productions, the host of the Worcester Bazaar, approached us to talk about doing a collaborative project. The Worcester Bazaar, the Punk Rock Flea Market and The Village were also running a market that day. We ended up hearing about the Village’s market too late, but made a stamp raffle for guests on the day of our markets to encourage folks to go to all of our markets in exchange for a chance to be given a chance to be added into our raffle, which included gifts made by each of our groups.
Technocopia’s members at the maker market this year were Gemini Emporium, Floppy Cat Creations, Jessica Sadlier, River Burgess, Lauren Monroe, Christine Quinn, J.T. Mayan Art, Yianni Kyriazis and Ted Lilley. Some of our members sold their artwork, and other hosted activities for guests to be able to join in on for the holidays.
Technocopia also had a central table set up for guests to play with our demo table goods, and to try to solve our Escape Puzzle that we just designed for our 10 Year Anniversary Party. Guests cycled throughout the day around our member’s tables, and were able to buy from Redemption Rock’s selection of drink and snack offerings to stay warm before heading out to go to our partner’s markets out throughout Worcester.
Tabling at our annual Maker Market is a great way to start tabling if you’re an aspiring craft faire artist! Cost for tabling is set quite low, and our audience each year remains small but has the potential for good sales for our members, some of whom have been exceptionally successful in past years.
